My Rant: Torrent was dark, erotic, titillating and captivating. You really get to see Gemma James at her best.  This booked completely rocked me to my core. I was an emotional mess. Gemma made me want things that I simply did not think I had in myself to want. Her characters are broken and that what makes them perfect for each other. Reading the story from both of the characters point of view gives you more insight to who they are and what makes them tick. Alex and Rafe are perfect for each other because they all have to endure their own version of hell and what’s exposed about their past is not pretty at all. Both characters experience’s break your heart; truly break your heart because they are tormented about their past and the horrible things they had to endure but those horrible events brought these two broken characters together. You get their raw emotions displayed like an open book. Ms. James does an amazing job at drawing you in. The plot grips you and you become addicted to the story and the characters. I was a ball of nerves reading this story. The erotic scenes are wicked and hot they take you down the slippery slope of domination and submission and if you’re anything like me you’re hooked. The villain Zach is deranged. He makes the story real and vivid. There are so many twist and turns in the plot that you and the characters are not sure how it’s going to play out. Torrent took me by complete surprise, while I was reading this story I kept saying to myself, wow I did not think Gemma had it in her to write this book, but when I thought about other book I read of her work, I was like  oh yeah she has a knack for these stories.  If you like a book with a dark erotic edge then you will love torrent. Gemma James writing style is smooth, exotic and vivid. You feel for her characters deeply because she exposes them. You love them for being broken and tormented but her cliff hangers keep you on the edgy because you need more and want more of the story especially since Zach has made a move that takes this story to a whole new level of misery.

My Recommendation: 

I rated this book 5 out of 5 Purple Rant Hearts and I placed this book on my 2014 favorite reads. If you are looking for a book with an erotic edge, submission and domination and a kick butt plot then grab yourself a copy of Torrent.
