Synopsis: Sometimes the one who broke your heart, needs the most
saving.
Piper Sandervale never thought she’d see Sasha Koval ever
again. Not since he took her heart, ripped it out and obliterated it from
existence. Now, six years have passed and she has run into him once more at the
local fairgrounds in Las Vegas. He desperately wants another chance, and he’d
do anything to get her back. She’s willing to give him a taste of his own
medicine, if this is her chance for payback. But, will she find herself way in
over her head?
Something has changed with Sasha and Piper struggles to
justify the worth of past hurts to continue her quest for atonement.
Who needs saving now?
Excerpt: “Can’t sleep?”
He shook his head, invading my space as I reseated the
security chain. His proximity was more than I could bear, but he inched even
closer until his arms slipped around my waist and his breath made mine catch.
“The nights are long, especially when all I can think about is you, Piper.”
How could I respond to that? I couldn’t. At least my
stuttered words would never leave my lips, as his were pressed onto mine, his
hands softly cupping my cheeks. Kissing with an intensity that grew with each
second, I let myself relax into his body, melting like butter right into him. I
kissed him back as my eyes closed, not wanting to feel anything but this. His
eyes were tightly shut, and his body reacted immediately to mine as we stood
there, devouring each other.
My Rant:
Breathe me was an exhilarating. I really enjoyed this authors work. The storyline was written on the POV of the leading characters. You got a chance to see what they were feeling and experience the turmoil. The romance was so innocent, Sasha and Piper struggled at rekindling a love lost, but what I really mean to say is a love that was suppose to be because they fit each other perfectly.
But what I really enjoyed about this story is that the love between them was not easy. The author displayed common trials that normal people would face in many relationships and although what you may go through may be different for everyone, the way you over come these trials remain the same.
This storyline had all the major elements that made this book pop. Good characters and a compelling storyline that displayed heartache, love and the ability to forgive and let love be. I love it completely love it.
The romance is so compelling because the are both nervous about what the other is thinking and that insecurity is so innocent. You can help but swoon over Piper and Sasha's romance.
As the leading man Sasha character takes charge. Although I have to admit I was a little upset that he broke Piper's heart, I could not be mad at him because he had a good reason. I just think that he made a honest mistake that most people make when you are in love and care about someone so deeply that you don't want them to compromise their dreams because of your short coming's. Sasha sacrifice should not go un-noticed and it didn't in my heart because I completely adored him.
Piper, was broken and vulnerable but never vindictive. Revenge may look sweet and although she thought she could carry it out, I liked that she just could not. Piper was just not that typer of person and that made her the bigger person to me in this story. Its hard as hell to let someone back into your life that has heart you so bad you just don't think that you can survive the attack. Piper had courage and that courage to love comes through within this story.
Piper and Sasha made an interesting couple and there story touched you on so many levels. It is easy to relate to their pain, the love and heartache. Their romance just reached you, that sometimes you have to take a step back and just breathe.
I rated this book 4 out of 5 purple rant hearts. I liked that the author takes you to the past from both POV but she also brings you to the present. She opens both characters up to you so that you are not left guessing what one felt about the other. Which I think is pretty amazing from a readers view.. I completely adored this story and would recommend this book to anyone that loves contemporary romance.
