Genre: Paranormal Romance What is this book about?
There is a group of vampires that have devoted themselves to protect the human race by helping the government protect the president. Raymond leads his coven at that tasks. His coven consist of his sister Sullie who is the deadliest among them but she has healing powers so she coverts as a physician. Sterling, Raymond's son is a half breed that has the ability to get information from others object just by touching them. Since Sterling is an half breed he is the weakest of the other members in the coven. There are other vampires attached to the coven that have special powers of their own and together they work efficiently to protect the White house. Dixon the current director is on the verge of retiring and has to replaced his position with the lovely Alex. Raymond is taken back by the newly appointed director. He never saw anyone that was more beautiful than his dead wife Wilma. Raymond struggles to accept the fact that he could love again while Alex was on the search for finding me Mr right after a dangerous collide with her attacker. Love begins to bloom between them and so does the plots to assassinate the president. Would Raymond and Alex find love while uncovering the plot of a mad scientist ? Sorry I won't tell you. You will have to read the book to find out.
My Rant
I seem to love books that have anything to do with vampires and their special abilities and that immediately draws me to the story. Sexy vampires also hold my attention especially the ones with the biggest hearts. Although due to their genetic makeup their hearts might not beat. Raymond was everything you could hope to get in an sexy alpha male. He was quite the bad ass but such a teddy when it came down to his family and the women he loved. Alex was broken but strong and independent. I like the way the author displays this struggle it allows you to connect more with heroine. The tension between Raymond and Alex was enough to drive you insane. The romance is there but you are driven mad with the teasing scenes until their is an erotic explosion. Both characters have hang-ups that they have to work through. But in the end love conquers them all. When the villain finally step's on the scene there was some action to get your adrenaline running and you are not sure if the heroine and the hero will make it out alive. In the end you get your fairy tale like love story that makes you sigh with relief.
My Recommendation
I rated this book 3 1/2 out of 5 purple rant hearts.
